My yoga journey began in 2013 when I walked into a Vinyasa class at my local gym with the aim of gaining flexibility. After years of playing sport; provincial touch rugby and university hockey, I knew my body needed a change! I left the studio with much more than a stretch – I left with a sense of discovery, a drive... a curiosity. I continued to practice yoga through my days at the University of Pretoria, visitng the gym and following YouTube videos.

I found a sense of comfort in yoga. It was the only place I could turn to in difficult times, when anxiety struck and when I didn’t quite feel like myself. It was the place where I could find myself, yet lose myself at the same time. I completed my Yoga Teacher Training in 2016 and have not stopped learning since. As a qualified Occupational Therapist, my knowledge of injuries and anatomy has helped me to treat every student as an individual.

One of my many other passions lie in Musical Theatre. As a singer, dancer and actress, I am always fascinated by how yoga has helped me grow; in my physical, mental and emotional self. The holistic approach of mind, body and soul is always the focus.

I have a passion for developing the yoga community and started the initiative Yoga South Africa to build awareness within my country. Yoga South Africa has grown tremendously and has now been developed into an Online Database of teachers, studios and events, as well as a Blog. (

I currently teach group, private and corporate in Cape Town, South Africa. I cannot wait to travel and explore the yoga of the world.
