HATHA YOGA

Most forms of physical yoga are derived from or fall under the term Hatha Yoga. However, in common contemporary understanding, this term usually refers to a holistic and intuitive practice that is focused on correct alignment, breathing techniques and mindful movement. Hatha can be taught in a manner accessible to beginners, but has scope to progress to advanced levels.

RESTORATIVE YOGA

Restorative yoga is focused on a sequence of postures that facilitates deep rest for the body and mind. Restorative yoga is advisable for those who may have injuries/ailments, or those who seek a practice that restores energy levels and calms the nervous system. It can function as a form of ‘therapy’ of the effective management of illness or injury.

Vinyasa & Flow yoga

Vinyasa is a rigorous practice that focuses on a dynamic flow of movements in alignment with breath work. This faster pace of yoga with creative sequencing enables you to challenge yourself physically, focus the mind, and lift the spirits. It is a playful and fluid practice.

YIN YOGA

Yin yoga is a slow practice that focuses on holding postures for 3-5minutes. It combines aspects of Hatha yoga, the concept of energy meridians in Chinese medicine, Taoist philosophy and Buddhist meditation techniques. Yin encourages very slow, soft and intuitive movement combined with deep rest techniques.

POWER YOGA

Pump it; This is a contemporary ‘fitness’ approach to yoga, focusing on building strength, gaining some flexibility and all round motivation. Get ready to sweat.

PREGNANCY & KIDS YOGA

Yoga for expectant mums, yoga for new mums and yoga for little ones. This is a careful, hatha style of yoga that is suited to your needs and is safe for mum and baby. For the little ones, this is yoga that is engaging, fun and age-appropriate.

MEDITATION & MINDFULNESS

There are a myriad of different meditation, mindful and mantra practices derived from traditional Hindu and Buddhist teachings. There are also adaptions that are entirely universal and agnostic in approach. This can be a spiritual awakening, or a practical tool to improve concentration, mental clarity and physical health.

KUNDALINI YOGA

Kundalini yoga is an uplifting mix of spiritual and physical practices. Connect with yourself through a devotional class, focusing onbreathing techniques, meditation, chanting and postures. The pace of yoga is slow and the approach to postures is careful.
